"There is no secret so close as that between a rider and his horse"
– R. S. Surtees, 1853
I ride my mare bareback in the standing brown grass. Her sweet smelling nutmeg hide is streaked with sweat and dust. We dance in canter in the October sun. Countless times we have danced together, she and I. She is older, I must be too, but her heart is still full of fire and her feet tap the earth and rise in grace and beauty. I know that I am tied in time to those who have danced with a horse, a thousand years ago, more. The dance is the same, but it is new again between us two. In "Flamenco" I hope to reflect my admiration for the time-tested dance between horse and rider and the undeniable Iberian influence in my work. I hope you enjoy it.
– Sarah Lynn Richards, 2008
"When I bestride him, I soar, I am a hawk: he trots the air; the earth sings when he touches it; the basest horn of his hoof is more musical than the pipe of Hermes… he is pure air and fire… the prince of palfreys; his neigh is like the bidding of a monarch and his countenance enforces homage."
– William Shakespeare, "Henry V 1599"
Reserve your "Flamenco" immediately to receive the lowest number possible (the first person will receive issue #1, the second will receive issue #2, etc). It is available in 3 sizes. Sarah will accept reservations with a 20% deposit until midnight December 31st 2008. We will confirm your reservation with the number(s) in the edition that you will receive. You may reserve more than one. "Flamenco" will be produced in it's entirety on January 1st 2009 and then never again.
"Flamenco" will be produced as a giclee, using the best printing technology in the world. The giclee process results in the most accurate capture of watercolor vibrancy that America's most popular equine artist Sarah Lynn Richards is known for. Each will have 23K gold leaf applied by Sarah. She will also sign and number each in pencil and emboss them "2009 Collector's Edition".
We will ship you "Flamenco" immediately after it's completion in early 2009. Since each issue has to be hand torn, signed, gold leafed, and perhaps framed this will take quite some time. We will ship all issues in the order of the reservations made (issue #1 will be shipped first, etc.) We hope to have all issues shipped by March 31st. Unless instructed otherwise, we will not charge your remaining balance due until the day that we ship your order.

We can also frame your issue of "Flamenco"; these options are available below. Sarah believes it looks best as pictured above: a gold beaded wood frame with a taupe outer mat, a black core gold inner trim mat, and "Flamenco" floated on a mauve mat with the hand-torn deckled edge of the watercolor paper left exposed. Click on the below flashing icon to send "Flamenco" to the frame shop, where you can choose and see different matting and frame options.
